The most important thing to do when using an ultralight airplane kit is to have an technical inspector inspect the airplane after every major phase of building. The reports produced by the technical inspector should be written down or attached to the builder’s log.

You must make sure that you obtain an ‘N’ number for your plane and make sure you register it with FAA as early as you can.If you wish, you can make your own choice of numbers and the numbers will be such that an ‘N’ followed by 5 numbers. This step is a must before having an FFA inspector issue you with a certificate.
